Follow specific steps to a smooth relocation
An international relocation will require more steps than a domestic relocation. That’s why we’re here. We take care of every step of the international process, smoothing the way for your move.

When you work with Atlas, it is our responsibility to follow the proper international moving steps. Below is an outline of our international process.
STEP 1
Contact: You may call Atlas International today at 888.669.6031 (US only) or 206.526.1137 or request an estimate online to begin. You should contact us at least 90 days in advance of your move date.
STEP 2
Moving Estimate: Our local, qualified Atlas Agent conducts a pre-move survey at your home to prepare the most accurate estimate possible. International estimates are quoted as a door-to-door, all-inclusive rate. Rates are quoted either per hundred pounds, or a flat rate per container.
STEP 3
Packing: Atlas professional packers prepare your shipment for safe international transport. They provide all materials and employ industry-proven techniques for international shipping.
High-Value Items: Atlas professional packers take special care of your high-value items. We document them and place security seals on the cartons as an added measure of protection.
STEP 4
Loading: Once your goods are packed, your Atlas Agent may load them into wooden shipping containers called lift vans. These containers measure approximately seven feet by four feet by seven feet. For larger shipments, Atlas may load the entire household directly into a 40-foot or 20-foot steel ocean container at your residence.
STEP 5
To the Port: Atlas transports your shipment to the port of departure.
STEP 6
Ocean or Air Transportation: At the port of departure, Atlas places your containerized shipment onto the ocean vessel or aircraft for international shipping.
STEP 7
Customs Clearance: At the port of arrival your household goods shipment is processed by the destination customs authority and is cleared for transfer to the qualified destination agent carefully selected by Atlas.
STEP 8
Delivery: The Atlas International destination agent delivers your household goods and unpacks them at your new residence. Or, your shipment is delivered into storage until you are ready to receive your goods.
