Think you've found the perfect roommate to take over that empty bedroom? You've probably already advertised whether pets are allowed and you've let people know if your home is smoke-free.

Here's what you should find out to determine if your potential roommate is really a match.

First, ask about their current job, employment history and savings. They should feel totally comfortable assuring you they'll pay the rent on time every month.

Second, find out about their schedule. Keep the question open-ended. You'll learn a lot based on how they choose to answer it. You can ask for more specific details if needed.
